The business of Fashion is an exciting, complex and demanding industry. From the designers studios, to the Runway shows, the buying, retailing and advertising, each process is an intracate piece of a big beautiful puzzle. As a business owner and buyer, I am frequently asked what inspires and influences the process of running a fashion boutique. As I get ready to go to New York to buy for Spring 2015, I rely on industry reporting of the Runway shows and trends from designers, established as well as up and coming. Everything from color forcasting to fabrics and styling is absorbed prior to the trip to help form a plan for what we will offer our clients next year.
Vogue.com is the first thing I read every morning. Having been a loyal reader since I was 15 (many years ago!) it has always been my go to source for up to the moment fashion insider information. It is an inspirational resource and an essential part of my discovery process.
So to put things in perspective I am linking you with a series by Chioma Nnadi, Fashion News Director of Vogue.com as she interviews three designers getting ready for Fall Fashion week 2014, which took place last February in New York City. These are the collections are in stores now. I think you will enjoy this as much as I did!
